In 2021, bought a 19th century house deep in rural France. He lives surrounded by his books; and combines a love of performing and his love of literature to create audible books which create a powerful theater in the mind for the listeners young and old.  

Colin David Reese was born in 1950 and started his professional career at the age of 12 on the BBC in radio drama. He was in several radio productions, including Mrs. Dale’s Diary and Lord of the Flies.

Stage, radio, film and TV appearances have been numerous and over the years, has shared the boards and film/TV sets with such notable actors as, Sir John Gielgud, Nigel Hawthorne, Paul Eddington, Sophie Marceau, Sandrine Bonnaire, Matt Damon, Adam Driver as well as many other talented, lesser known professionals.

(October 1985) He acted in Tennessee Williams' play, "Sweet Bird of Youth", at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London, England with Lauren Bacall and  Harold Pinter was the director.

Colin David Reese is also known for The Last Duel (2021), The Easy Way (2008) and Highlander (1992), Female Agents (les Femmes de l’Ombre) (2008), Irina La Malette Rouge (2013) and he has appeared in films shot in Romania,- (Tu ne Marcheras Jamais Seul), Iraq (Al Haj Najim), and Nigeria (October 1).

 

In 1990, at the age of 40, Colin went to Paris to spend 2 years as a student at the Ecole Internationale du Théâtre with Jacques Lecoq, and he still lives in France.

 

As well as recording audiobooks, he runs on-line workshops for performing Shakespeare and also acting techniques for the camera. 

 

His one man Zoom play “Shakespeare Unbound – a Gift to the Future” is currently available as a VOD.
